Sweater Weather

Hello Fashionistas!

I am the kind of person who gets all enthusiastic for Christmas from mid-November and I guess everyone has started figuring this out. Yeah, I am THAT friend. It's not even December and I have downloaded all the typical christmas playlists, made cookies, put up the first christmas lights, and may or may not be listening to "Baby It's Cold Outside" right now... But it's not I am going to apologise for it either, because what is there not to be enthusiastic about, it's CHRISTMAS we are talking about here, how can you not be pumped up?
The weather in Athens is a lot colder now, which makes me so happy, because the sun is pretty cool, but rain is freaking awesome. In this outfit, I wore black skinny jeans (wow, typical me) and a pair of simple grey vans, and a black knit sweater with little shoulder cuts. I grabbed my leather jacket, and I went to a lovely Friday walk, enjoying my day, since schools were closed for Thanksgiving. Kifissia is now decorated with lovely christmas lights, christmas decorations are all over the place, and - how could I forget - Starbucks started selling their coffee again in festive red cups!

Fall Shopping | 2014

Hello Fashionistas!
The amazing thing about fall, is that it's not too cold to wear your favorite summer basics, but not too hot to rock some winter trends. I recently went on a massive fall shopping spree, and I found some wonderful pieces, which I put together to create some outfits I would personally wear during the winter. I combined shorts with jackets, spring dresses with warm sweaters and much more. And since I loved them all, I thought I should share them with you!

Look Number One: Sunny Morning Walk

All from Zara. Top | Shorts | Jacket
Oh, you know the feeling when you wake up in one of those warm days, and think to yourself, is it appropriate to wear shorts? Yes. Yes, it absolutely is. Who said shorts are only for the summer? I love to take advantage of warm weather to rock my favorite light-colored high waisted shorts, and in this outfit, I combined them with a basic tee and a raincoat, to make it fall appropriate. If you want, you can wear them with dark-colored tights underneath. Add your favorite heeled boots, and you're good to go!

Tenerife Sea

Hello Fashionistas!
Since the weather in Greece is pretty damn awesome for a September, wearing one of my favorite summer outfits for one last time before I go back to wearing swetears and leggings is a must. Generally during this time of the year it's always confusing when it comes to what to wear. Like, it's practically autumn, but it's too warm to wear coats and too cold to wear tank tops. That is why I prefer to take some fall/winter fashion classics and combine them with unique summer pieces. I try to rock summer fashions for as long as possible, but also add my autumn favorites.
In this outfit, I wore a classic black long sleeved blouse, with printed electric blue floral print shorts. I love the lace ending of the shorts, it just gives a more delicate look to the outfit. I also adore the way the necklace makes the look a bit sparkly, it's like the little detail that completes this outfit.

Vogue Japan | "La Canzone Del Mare"

Hello Fashionistas!
The Vogue Japan team recently traveled all the way to Capri, Italy in order to complete an amazing fashion editorial named "La Canzone Del Mare" for their October 2014 issue. They always manage to have the most unique editorials, and this issue was no exception. In the hands of the skillful photographer Boo George, the outcome couldn't be anything less than breathtaking. It actually featured some pieces straight off the runway of Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda Fall/Winter 2014 collection which everyone is dying to get their hands on. In this issue's editorial it was all about the little details, such as the different little jewels were hand-sewed on the dresses, or how the umbrellas and the dresses were matching even to the smallest detail. To my opinion, it's truly wonderful how the colorful gems and the blue colors on the dresses blend in perfectly with the sea in the background.

Under The Grape Vines

Hello Fashionistas!
Today's outfit is a classic color combination (black and white) combined with SS14 trends and some turquoise details. Stripped pants were a total trend in winter, and what a better way to continue this trend in summer than wearing it on shorts? Oh, and let's not forget the kimonos, which were probably my SS14 favorite trend. The thing about this kimono top is that it's sleeveless, has lace details in the back and on it's ends, making it the perfect choice for hot summer days. With a simple white tank top to make it as minimalistic as possible, a gold-turqoise necklace and blue bracelets on, because in outfits like this, it's the accessories that make the difference.

If you want to wear black and white combinations during summer, make sure to break off the monotony by adding unique accessories and some pastel-colored details for morning outfits and more neon for night outfits.

Mermaids and Head Jewel

Hello Fashionistas,
Don't you ever wish you could just stop everything and be a mermaid? Same, girl, same.
These photos were taken in the Mavros Molos beach, my favorite beach in Crete. Every time I go there, it's like I travel to another world, because the way of the crystal clear ocean, the blonde sand and the multicolored giant rocks blend all together is truly magical. This scene inspired me to put together this look. This outfit to me is something I believe to be a bohemian version of a mermaid look. Lace, jewels and chains put together for this look.

After being amazed from the Coachella bohemian looks, I came across this amazing head jewel, and just thought that it was only right to buy it. And by the last week in Athens before my sailing off to Crete for a whole month, while panic-shopping outfits for my summer holiday. Then, I found this gorgeous bikini, which is not your average lace swimsuit - it has blue lace on top of hot pink lace and two jewels on the straps. It's truly the details that make a piece special.

VMAs 2014 Fashion Review

Hello Fashionistas!

The Video Music Awards are the event that everyone was anxiously.. Why? Well, after last year's Miley's performance it was just too hard to ignore VMAs. This year, the show was hosted in The Forum in Inglewood, Los Angeles, and Hollywood's hottest stars attended. And of course, some amazing outfits were spotted.. VMAs is a fashion trend-setter for every other award show, so get ready to be amazed, because fashion in the VMAs isn't a game. But allow me to sum it up real quick for you guys: Ariana isn't a good girl anymore, Beyoncé SLAYED with her breathtaking show, Nicki Minaj had a major wardrobe malfunction -but still managed to kill it-, Iggy Azalea wore the most shiny Versace dress you've ever seen, oh and Katy Perry showed up in denim head-to-toe, in a wonderful remake of Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake's matching denim outfits in 2002. Too much? Yeah, let's take it a step at a time.

1. Ariana Grande

I don't know how her good girl to bad girl transformation happened so quickly, but damn, she brought the whole bad girl game to a new level. And when she showed up on the red carpet with an all leather outfit and gold Moschino chains all over, we knew she was not longer the adorable Cat, but a grown self-confident women. And then, while opening the show, she rocked a hot black bodysuit and thigh-high boots. Ariana, show 'em how it's done.

Summer Rain and Lace Umbrellas

Hello Fashionistas!
5 minutes outside until it started raining, and to be honest, my lace umbrella didn’t offer much protection from the rain. With long dresses being in vogue this year, I couldn’t help but try this trend myself. With my long white dress out the closet and my flower hairpins from Thailand, I was more than ready to see what the buzz was all about. And let me tell you- I fell for this trend immediately.

To me, there’s a little story behind every piece in my closet. In this outfit, the one with the most interesting story is my necklace. During my trip to Vienna, one early morning right after breakfast, we took the train to an avenue in which every Sunday, a vintage bazaar took place. It was absolutely crazy, more and more sellers as minutes passed, more and more buyers looking for worthy items. It was surely something I had never experienced before, so it was a bit of a shock at first. That’s exactly where I found my green necklace. I was kinda unsure whether to buy or not, but I loved the aristocratic look of it. So the first rule in vintage shopping applied here - when you find vintage jewelry, you can’t just not buy it.

Sunkissed Skin

Hello Fashionistas!
I am not even going to try and lie: I was scrolling through instagram for about an hour until I remembered that I am supposed to write an article. Oops. Anyways, for today's outfit, I chose this gorgeous one-piece uniform. Have you ever fallen in love with an outfit? Because that's pretty much what happened to me with this outfit. I absolutely adore how amazing it feels on, like comfortable and stylish, casual but elegant. Even though this piece would look stunning with out any accessories, I decided I would just go for a not-so-typical straw hat. The thing about the color combinations on this outfit, navy, beige and white, is that it's the summer edition of the typical earth color fashion palette. Also, the lovely lace on the back of the piece adds a feminine look. Don't get tricked: It's shorts, not a skirt- or maybe, a new version of skort. One small final detail: I had no make-up on and my hair was straight out from the pool, so the hashtag #naturallook is absolutely relevant here. Enjoy!

Brand On The Spotlight | Mulberry x Cara Delevigne

Hey Fashionistas!
Let's all be honest: We have all gone through a Cara Delevigne phase during our lives.. If not, get ready to go through it right now. Cara Delevigne has been one of the hottest topics all around the world. Thousand of girls look up to her, her fashion choices and style. But what is there not to admire in Cara Delevigne? She's beautiful and stylish, and most importantly she works hard but still loves what she does.
Lately, she has been working with the well-known english brand Mulberry, which happens to be one my favorites. Fashion shows, photoshoots, projects, and even her own bag collection! That's how she got my attention, and somehow I decided I would present her amazing work to you as well. Today I will be showing you not only the campaign she did for Mulberry's Spring/Summer 2014 Collection, but the Mulberry x Cara Delevigne collection and ways to steal her style in both projects as well!

Casual Stylin' In London

Hey Fashionistas!
As you may have read in my giveaway post, on my way back to Athens from Thailand, I had to spent a night in London, because my connecting flight was departing the following day. This outfit post was shoot at 5 am, just before we left for the airport. I literally had a couple of minutes, and I hadn't even programmed to make this outfit post. So with just 5 hours of sleep and the most comfortable clothes in my bag on, as I stepped outside to look at the gorgeous river for one last time, I decided I would do this photoshoot. It was impressive how beautiful these pics came out of such simple outfit, proving that sometimes the classic combination of jeans-white top can be the best choice.

It was actually my first time in London, and I had a wonderful time. The evening before we walked by the river and the enjoyed what I can easily call the best burger I had ever had. Even though it was summer, just as the sun set down, it suddenly got so cold I had to go inside. After all, I had just one sweater in my carry-on bag, because since in Thailand the weather was impressively hot, I guessed it would be the same in London. I was proved pretty much wrong.

GIVEAWAY | Ted Baker Makeup Bag & Petite Maison Candles

Hey Fashionistas!
Exactly like I told you, my blog is now officially 1 year old, and to be exact, today is its anniversary. I didn't want to be the only one to be celebrating, so I created this giveaway for my wonderful readers (that's right, for you, the person who's reading this right now). It's just my way of  massive thank you to all you amazing readers for your comments and support throughout this wonderful journey. To participate, scroll down to the rafflecopter window on my post.
Here's a little story behind the prizes I am giving away: The cute little tea cup candles are actually from Paris, from this amazing store called Petite Maison. The Ted Baker Makeup Bag however is from the Ted Baker store in Heathrow airport, in London, England. I got it the day I was traveling back to Athens from Thailand. I spent just one night in London, because our connecting flight to Athens was the following day. We had to wake up at 5.00 am, and even though we had notified a taxi company to pick us up the day before, they never even showed up, so we ended up calling another taxi, and by the time we arrived at Heathrow we thought we had missed our flight. After we rushed through security check, we ruined to our gate only to find out that our flight was actually delayed. We had about 1 hour and some pounds left, so instead of changing them back to euros, we decided that we would spend them. I thought Ted Baker was the perfect choice, since I am obsessed with this amazing store, and since in Greece they sell their items double the price. I bought a wonderful little bag (you will be reading about this bag in my following outfit posts, just wait and see) and this makeup bag.

Fashion Report: Bohemian Style

Hey Fashionistas!
Quick note before we begin, my blog's first anniversary is approaching, so I wanted to take this chance and thank you for supporting me throughout my journey as a fashion blogger. About one year ago, a girl from Athens (hint: it's me) decided to begin a blog under the name "Daily City Girl", and since then I got to attend fashion shows as a journalist, and meet amazing people. I want to thank you, yes you, the person who's reading this, for reading my crazy articles and being loyal readers. I am sure there's much more to come, and that's exactly why I won't stop blogging here. Many many kisses to all of you, I still can't believe that my blog hit 14,000 views, I thought nobody would even care to read my articles! Here's to all my city fashionistas!

Okay now let's just get to the point :). Between listening to this new band I discovered (it's called New Politics, in case you were wondering) and watching Orange Is The New Black, I felt like writing one of my classic type of articles. Bohemian style is all I have been hearing about the past few weeks, and since I believe it's an amazing trend, I decided to dedicate my post to this new trend. Oh, and if you didn't notice, I haven't written a Fashion Report since my Ombre post, so I am pretty excited.  So, sit back in your couch, pull your laptop closer, and explore with me bohemian style!

Take A Break From The Sun

Hey Fashionistas!
Have you ever thought than it's nearly impossible to look fashionable at the beach after you get out of the water? Allow me to prove you wrong. Using a pair of simple light wash jean shorts, a white tank top and a kimono top, I achieved the after-swimming look I was looking for. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much from the local fashion in Koh Samui, however, I bought this gorgeous top from a seller on the beach. That's right. You could do shopping while being on the beach, they basically came up to you and showed you their products, which was perfect for me, I mean who wouldn't love shopping being so easy. The best part is that I got it for just 400 baht, which is basically 10 euros.
Best part of doing this photoshoot? There was a beach wedding preparation right next to our hotel, and the decorations were just dreamy. It was basically the best scene I could ask for an outfit like this. I hope you enjoy going through these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them!

Street Style: Mission Thailand

Hello Fashionistas!
As you may have noticed, this post is a bit different than the ones I usually post. While being in Bangkok airport, since I was waiting for my 12 hour flight to London to board, I had plenty of time in my hands. So, I thought what a better way to kill time than chasing down fashionistas around the airport, and taking pictures of them? And that's exactly what I did. With my camera in my hands, I literally felt like a paparazzi while spotting the most fashionable people in the airport. And let me tell you, all the weird glances I got were definitely worth it, since the result was divine.
I was most certainly impressed by all the multicultural styles I spotted. From colorful burkas to maxi dresses combined with oversized hats, to anime tops and bags, Bangkok fashion surprised me amazingly much. So, I won't waste any more time, and start right away presenting you my favorite looks!

Coconut Cocktails in Thailand

Hello Fashionistas!
So, exactly like I told you last time on my post, I travelled to Thailand for holidays. I had such an amazing time, I enjoyed every second of it, and I even got the chance to do some divine photo shoots,  mainly with beachwear and local fashion.
As you can see in the picture above, I went to Koh Samui, which took me about 17 hours on a plane, 3 connecting flights and about a day of traveling to get there, but let me tell you, it was all worth it. We stayed in an amazing hotel and made some trips around the island, which included a Jeep safari, Snorkeling, Canoeing, and endless swimming. Thailand was an amazing experience for me, since it was my first time visiting Asia. The beaches were dreamy, the sun so shinny, and the food was just how I like it. So, for the next weeks, expect many beach posts from my blog because I have so many memories to share with you and combined with being off school for summer, I now have so much free time which I will dedicate to blogging.

Punk Rock Wonderland

Hello Fashionistas!
Since I joined tumblr, I can easily say that my music taste has changed very, very much.  And I am not saying that just to say it, I mean it. I went from listening to Pitbull to obsessing over blink-182, 5 Seconds of Summer, twenty one pilots, Bring Me The Horizon, and many other artists I once considered way out of my music taste. With that being said, I want to introduce you in my latest outfit post.. My inspiration while I put this outfit together was mainly punk rock bands, so I couldn't help but wear something different.

I basically wore a white skirt, but I added a black one underneath the first one to puff it up a bit and give the outfit a black and white look. I first thought I should wear a classy top to match the skirts, but I decided against it, so I ended up wearing a simple black t-shirt with gorgeous stars on the sleeves, and then a stationery necklace on top. Finally, I wore my hair as usual but added four, that's right god damned four headbands.

White skirt - Stradivarius
Black Skirt - Benetton
T-Shirt - Zara TRF
Necklace and Headbands - Accessorize
Shoes - from Berlin

Just a little note before I close off this article, I will be leaving for Thailand next week, so I might post a little less.. But during my stay there, I will get many more outfit post photos, so don't be disappointed :) Don't hesitate to tell me what you would like to see next.
