Spring-Summer 2014 Runway Highlights!

Hello fashionistas!
Things have been busy lately and I haven't stopped for a minute since the last time I wrote for DCG. School, exams, competitions. So much to do, so little time. So yes, I am still here, blogging for you!

I guess we have all been feeling the heat lately. Spring is here, and the countdown to Summer has begun! Today I'll present you some of the hottest trends as seen on the runways of many Runway shows, but also in Mercedes-Benz Spring/Summer 2014 Fashion Week. Even though I didn't attend any of those, I have picked out some Runway looks. If you are wondering what you should wear for spring, what's in and what's not, you have clicked on the correct article!

Son Jung Wan Spring-Summer 2014

Ah, the one and only Son Jung Wan is again leaving us breathless with those extraordinary dresses. Take a good look- Notice the warm colors. Gold, White, Beige are all a must for your nights out during the summer. Now notice the cut-outs on the dresses above. Cut-outs will make your outfit a bit more sexy- go for the ones on the back, the sleeves, and the legs.

Just Cavalli Spring-Summer 2014

The Just Cavalli collection for this season can be described surreal. Wild, colorful Hawaiian prints on pants, skirts and dresses. If you want to try a colorful printed skirt or pant, style it with a simple white tee and a jacket on top. Also, look at all those mixed patterns. If you are going for this kind of look, make sure the patterns go well together, or else you'll end up getting laughed at (oops, ahaha). For the professional look, try a bright-colored pants, a beautiful cardigan on top and white high heels! Finally, as you can see, the colors worn on the runway were without an exemption in sun-kissed, bright, energetic tones.

Christian Siriano Spring-Summer 2014

I didn't expect anything less in the Christian Siriano show. The runway is blasting with color- beach inspired colors, including coral, white and canary! Many, many, many floral prints, bright colored dresses and of course the hottest summer trend - Kimono tops! Don't over do it- go for the minimalistic white kimono top, combined with skinny colorful pants or a gorgeous skirt. Add accessories like necklaces and big colorful bracelets.

Moschino Spring-Summer 2014

The Moschino Runway show was unique, but not exactly in a good way. All that jewelry (chains everywhere) was maybe a little too much for me to handle. However, I did notice a couple of things that will be in fashion for this season. First of all, the cropped tops and sweaters. They were worn with high-waisted skirts and shorts, which give a happy casual look in each outfit. Also, notice the big gold belt in almost every single look : these belts can give a classy professional look to many pieces in your closet. Finally, the one-sleeve dresses will be a total must this summer!

Mara Hoffman Spring-Summer 2014

Pretty patterns, cut-out dresses, neon colors and kimono tops where the fashion show's highlights. That's right, I am talking about the Mara Hoffman Spring-Summer 2014 Show. A show which left the audience only wanting more! All the pieces worn on the runway were so extraordinary, and have this summer funky look. My favorites were the gorgeous cut-out dresses. How you can style one? With sandals, delicate bracelets and light makeup, always depending on the occasion and color of the outfit.

Overview

Key Colors:All in all, the best colors to be worn this season will be warm tones. Pastel during the Spring, and a bit more Neon during the Summer.
