Spring-Summer 2014 Runway Highlights!

Hello fashionistas!
Things have been busy lately and I haven't stopped for a minute since the last time I wrote for DCG. School, exams, competitions. So much to do, so little time. So yes, I am still here, blogging for you!

I guess we have all been feeling the heat lately. Spring is here, and the countdown to Summer has begun! Today I'll present you some of the hottest trends as seen on the runways of many Runway shows, but also in Mercedes-Benz Spring/Summer 2014 Fashion Week. Even though I didn't attend any of those, I have picked out some Runway looks. If you are wondering what you should wear for spring, what's in and what's not, you have clicked on the correct article!

Son Jung Wan Spring-Summer 2014

Ah, the one and only Son Jung Wan is again leaving us breathless with those extraordinary dresses. Take a good look- Notice the warm colors. Gold, White, Beige are all a must for your nights out during the summer. Now notice the cut-outs on the dresses above. Cut-outs will make your outfit a bit more sexy- go for the ones on the back, the sleeves, and the legs.

Just Cavalli Spring-Summer 2014

The Just Cavalli collection for this season can be described surreal. Wild, colorful Hawaiian prints on pants, skirts and dresses. If you want to try a colorful printed skirt or pant, style it with a simple white tee and a jacket on top. Also, look at all those mixed patterns. If you are going for this kind of look, make sure the patterns go well together, or else you'll end up getting laughed at (oops, ahaha). For the professional look, try a bright-colored pants, a beautiful cardigan on top and white high heels! Finally, as you can see, the colors worn on the runway were without an exemption in sun-kissed, bright, energetic tones.

Christian Siriano Spring-Summer 2014

I didn't expect anything less in the Christian Siriano show. The runway is blasting with color- beach inspired colors, including coral, white and canary! Many, many, many floral prints, bright colored dresses and of course the hottest summer trend - Kimono tops! Don't over do it- go for the minimalistic white kimono top, combined with skinny colorful pants or a gorgeous skirt. Add accessories like necklaces and big colorful bracelets.

Moschino Spring-Summer 2014

The Moschino Runway show was unique, but not exactly in a good way. All that jewelry (chains everywhere) was maybe a little too much for me to handle. However, I did notice a couple of things that will be in fashion for this season. First of all, the cropped tops and sweaters. They were worn with high-waisted skirts and shorts, which give a happy casual look in each outfit. Also, notice the big gold belt in almost every single look : these belts can give a classy professional look to many pieces in your closet. Finally, the one-sleeve dresses will be a total must this summer!

Mara Hoffman Spring-Summer 2014

Pretty patterns, cut-out dresses, neon colors and kimono tops where the fashion show's highlights. That's right, I am talking about the Mara Hoffman Spring-Summer 2014 Show. A show which left the audience only wanting more! All the pieces worn on the runway were so extraordinary, and have this summer funky look. My favorites were the gorgeous cut-out dresses. How you can style one? With sandals, delicate bracelets and light makeup, always depending on the occasion and color of the outfit.

Overview

Key Colors:All in all, the best colors to be worn this season will be warm tones. Pastel during the Spring, and a bit more Neon during the Summer.

Key Closet Pieces for Spring-Summer 2014:
Kimono Tops, One-Sleeve Dresses, Gold Belts, Cut-Out Dresses, Printed Pants, Floral.

Fashion Inspiration: Zendaya

Hello Fashionistas!
I am actually having a day off, so I am writing this pretty little article for you. Oh, I am also finishing season 3 of Awkward and eating chocolate all day long… This Fashion Inspiration article is all about Zendaya, which you may know from Shake It Up or from her single "Replay". I would describe her style as tomboyish, however, she still manages to look absolutely fierce, no matter what. She's never afraid to take a chance and try something new, and is absolutely confident about her self. If you always wanted to copy her style or at least get inspired by her, you just clicked on the correct article!

Outfit No.1
This is my all time favorite Daya outfit because come on, how wonderfully minimalistic can this outfit be? :) Beyond perfection, she's rocking it. She's wearing an awesome orange/red sweater, a skater simple white dress and a pair of green colored high heels.

In order to steal this style, you'll need an orange crew neck sweater, which believe me I had a real hard time finding.

Also, you'll need a girly white dress, to use as a skater skirt underneath your gorgeous orange top!
I found this for 50$ at Rare London!

And to finish this gorgeous style, here are the exact same heeled shoes!

These are for 990$ (oh well) from Forward by Elyse Walker!

Outfit no.2
Now this outfit was from a videoclip in Shake It Up. Its absolutely gorg, and also extremely adorable! I love how girly and rock this outfit looks at the same time! I mean all the studs and the rock boots and then there's the romantic dress…

Before you even ask, its from 'Fashion Is My Kryptonite' videoclip. #Throwback

First of all, wear a classy light pink dress, with a glittery detail or a dark belt. I found this one on Debenhams for 79 euros.

Also, you'll need a rock jacket to wear on top. I found this 'Soldier Jacket' on Modekungen for 100 euros.

Use some funky colored/patterned tights to wear under your gorgeous dress. These are from Topshop  for 12 euros.

Finally, you'll need a pair of neon pink combat boots to finish this style. I found these boots on eBay for 24 euros.

That's it for today! I'll be coming up with mucchhhhh much much more, so stay tuned, share, like, follow, share the love.... I hope you liked this steal her style article :) LOVE YA

Simple Valentine's Day Cards!

Simple Valentine's Day Cards!

Hello Fashionistas!

Yes, Valentine's Day is in 2 days! If you are like me, you probably forgot, and just realized that you need to make Valentine's Day cards. Guess what! I got ya covered! Here are 2 adorably simple cards to give to your loved ones. You can probably make these in just 15 minutes, so they are pretty much a life saver.
Also, this year, instead of keeping my cards, I sent them to a "Meals on Wheels" location! There's a project on DoSomething.Org, where you can send your v-day cards to a location of your choice, and they will distribute them to each older adult with a meal!

You'll need:

  • Scissors
  • Glitter, Glitter glue
  • Carbon paper in different colors
  • Glue
  • Markers, Pencil etc.

Card No.1

This is such a cute and easy card… It didn't take me longer than 15 mins to make this actually, so it must be pretty easy!

Instructions:

  1. Use a pink carbon paper and fold it in half (Obviously)
  2. Cut little hot pink paper hearts and write a letter in each for the word "Valentine's"
  3. After writing 'Happy' using a black marker, glue the little hearts in a funky way.
  4. Dress the inside of the card with white paper, which you'll use to write your wishes. (Fancy!)
  5. Write "DAY!" in pink glitter glue (Old school style)
  6. Cut a bigger heart and and glue cute sprinkles or colorful glitter to decorate
  7. Write your wishes and send!

Card No.2

Such an adorable design! It's basically a circle of hearts, which I made out of old magazines and small pieces of pink, purple and red paper. It's made so quickly, that you can make 5 of those in 30 mins!

Instructions:

  1. Use a purple carbon paper and fold in half
  2. Cut out small and big hearts out of… basically anything
  3. Form them into a circle design and when you are satisfied with the result glue it together
  4. Dress the inside of the card with pink paper
  5. There you go! Send them to everyone and make their valentine's day bright!
That's it! In so little time, I managed to make these adorable cards! However, instead of keeping them for my self, I sent them to a "Meals on Wheels" center, so that an older adult receives each! Valentine's Day Act Of Kindness alert!

I hope you enjoyed making V-day cards with me!I hope you spent your Valentine's Day with the ones you truly love!

Make sure to check out the Do Something Love Letters page! You can participate in the other wonderful projects they have going on right now! Teens for Jeans is such great campaign if you kinda feel like you are bored of your old jeans-you can donate them! It's all for a good cause, after all!

PS: In case you end up having the worst V-day in the world, there's always ice cream! Love ya!

Latest Trends: Skater Skirts!

Latest Trends: Skater Skirts!

Hello Fashionistas!
Yes, I am back with a Latest Trends post! I know you guys love these so here I go. The trend I will be analyzing today is Skater Skirts! Are you ready for this? (I seriously hope so)

Skater Skirts

Yes they are here, yes they have taken over the world, yes they are the cutest thing ever, yes they are the skater skirts! A million ways to style these, sweaters, crop tops, heels, oversized tops, vans. However, the best part is how these can look both casual and formal, depending on how you wear them.
Basic Black Skirt

Oh come on, we both know how these are the first thing you run to when you need to get dressed for a party. Simple, however they go well with almost every clothing piece you own. Not to mention how classy these make you look, even if you wear them with your favorite Chuck Taylors.

Maroon Skirt
Aaaand here we have our second most loved skirt, the maroon skater skirt! It personally reminds me of private school outfits, so it kinda gives you the preppy kind of look. Dare and wear these with an oversized knit jacket!

White Skirt

So romantic, you may as well read a Nicholas Sparks novel in these. Wear them with white tops and heels!

Floral Skirt

Way to go flower child. Combine it with a cute bow,a black crop top, over the knee socks and the most simple pair of shoes you have, and you've got a hipster outfit! (Or a romantic one, depending on your style)

Neon Skirt

Definition of sass. Don't snob these, because even the fashion queen Rihanna chose them for her outfit. Pretty cool huh?

Black n' White skirt
It's sure hard to combine, but who wouldn't love this awesome black n' white patterned skirt? Wear it with a neon sweater and black Vans and you're good to go!

How to Style Skater Skirts

Tops
You can go either for the absolute party girl crop top or for the every day oversized or fitting sweater. They both work very well, but make sure to have them match your outfit!

Accessories

If you feel the need to spice up your basic outfit, a big hipsterish necklace would do the job. If you are more of a romantic person, add a little silver heart necklace and you'll be good to go.

Shoes
Let me tell ya, skater skirts are all about how you style them. With high heels they would be preppy and formal, but with vans they would be more casual and everyday. I would suggest one colored shoes, but if you feel like your outfit is dull, definitely go for the fun flower or polka dot pair of shoes you own. But, please, please never mix patterns together when it comes to skirt-shoe pattern.

Outfit Inspiration: Celebrities
But of course, the one and only Ariana Grande begun this trend. And RiRi? Well, she did her magic with her neon skirt!

Outfit Inspiration: Everyday

I guarantee there are a million different ways to properly wear a skater skirt using the same basic clothing pieces. Give it a try and experiment with cool infinity scarfs, off-the shoulder sweaters, black tights, and jeans jackets.

That was it fashionistas! Please understand I have school work to do too, and exams and everything, so I will probably be off for a while. I love y'all however.
Share the love with your friends! Also, you can tweet me a picture of your skater skirt outfit on @DailyCityGirl or on Google+! Like us on Facebook and stuff :)
